VIDEO: Watch This Giant Curious Pacific Octopus Spotted Near Hartley Bay

‘Magnificent’ creature caught on new underwater cam.

Ocean Networks Canada recently installed an underwater community observatory camera neary Hartley Bay and it’s piquing the interest of local sea creatures.

“[A] curious giant Pacific octopus (Enteroctopus dofleini) has already dropped by a few times to check out who moved into its remote northern BC neighbourhood,” the group says in a new video posted to YouTube

The University of Victoria research organization explains that “these magnificent cephalopods grow larger and live longer than any other octopus species, with the largest recorded specimen being 9 metres across and weighing more than 270 kg!”
